A beautiful little bud - the flower on the chives! These chives have come back year after year very faithfully in one corner of the garden near the deck.
This year I finally found a Bachelor's Button plant for sale. It's not in the ground yet, but I'm enjoying the buds and flowers so much.
Like the buds on the peony, it appears that the ants help the buds open by eating away at the outer leaves.
These flowers are spectacular!
The recent rain left these little raindrops on one of the peony blossoms. The texture of the petals on these flowers looks just as smooth as silk.
